Escape To Cali - Colombia - South America

Delirio. Salsa, Circus and Live Music

Delirio, technically a foundation, started in 2006 in Cali, with the purpose of giving artists from local Salsa Schools a platform to express themselves through music and dance. This has given many residents, often from the poorest areas of Cali, an opportunity to integrate socially in a society where socio-economics dominate everyday life.

The Delirio Show blends Salsa, Circus and Orchestra together in a internationally renown show. It’s choreography is top-notch, with fast paced, highly technical footwork which Caleños are known for.

Located in Yumbo, 10 to 15 minutes outside of Cali. The show takes place in Centro de Eventos Valle del Pacifico. This cab fare will inevitably be higher and is ESTIMATED to be 30,000 – 40,000 COP from the center of Cali. (See our recommended taxis)

The doors open at 7pm, with the show kicking off at 9pm and ending at 2am. It’s a long night, but don’t fret, food and drinks are available. Tickets are 160,000 COP (approx $80) and need to be purchased in advance from the following site: https://www.deliriotickets.com/

** The best way to use a taxi service is over the phone (444 4444 or 555 5555) or through an iPhone or Android application.  By using these services you confirm the taxi cab and driver info and you are given a code to enter the cab, usually the last 2 digits of the phone number you are calling from, or an app generated code from your phone.

The main reason to use the system – though the problem is much less prevalent today than in the past –  is to curb the use of illegal cabs (dwindling in numbers) and to avoid being taken advantage of, as everything is recorded and logged in a system.

** You can always call Don Hector 🙂
